Wednesday: Gene Barry shared this interesting piece:

Pan Macmillan SFF imprint Tor UK is now accepting direct submissions from authors, with editorial director Julie Crisp acknowledging that having closed lists can mean "many writers feel that the only option is to go down the self-publishing route".

In a blog post on the Tor site, Crisp sets out guidelines for writers wishing to submit their manuscript directly to the publisher, stipulating that it must be complete, and ofbetween 95,000-150,000 words.http://www.thebookseller.com/news/tor-uk-now-accepting-direct-author-submissions.html

Thursday:

Moyra Donaldson sent us this link to The Ofi Press - it publishes international poetry, fiction, and essays.  You'll need to register with them first and then read and submit.

The Ofi Press was founded in December 2010 by Jack Little with the aim of promoting Mexican literature around the world and publishing the best in international poetry, fiction, essays and more with a monthly magazine edition.

Since our first issue we have published some of the world’s best known poets and writers as well as relatively unknowns whom have offered perspectives from around the world on life and living.  Our network of Mexican poets has grown considerably and in the near future we will be producing an anthology of contemporary Mexican poetry which we will aim to publish with a well known British poetry publishing house.

One of the proudest achievements however has been the collaboration with Luis Cotto Vasallo in creating a space for poets of many nations, languages and cultures to come together to share their work here in Mexico City. People have dropped by from around the world to read and share their experiences and it is a great pleasure to come together each month with such a wonderful group of people.

Thanks for taking the time to check out The Ofi Press. I am always delighted to hear from people from all over world who may just want to say hello or who have ideas for a collaboration. The possibilities are endless!

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you.
Saludos desde la Ciudad de Mexico,

Jack Little         theofipress@mail.com

Friday:

Dromineer Literary Festival ( check their fb page if you haven't done so - https://www.facebook.com/DromineerLitFestival )   shared this link to

AGENDA which is currently accepting submissions - until Friday 8th February.

"Agenda, as the title insists, does several things that need to be done if literary culture is to stay in good shape. First of all, it stimulates and sponsors new poetry by poets whose writings and espousals have given the magazine its personality from the beginning. Agenda has a second important function which it discharges by doing work of critical advocacy for poets of marked or under-rated achievement, living and dead." Seamus Heaney

This is an animation of Joyce reading from Finnegans Wake.  Only a few minutes long and beautifully shot:
